Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has expressed strong disapproval of the recent security breach in the Mangu Local Government Area of the state, which resulted in the loss of over thirty lives and the destruction of property.
In a press release signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the governor expressed deep concern over the escalating security challenges that led to the destruction of homes and livelihoods by suspected hoodlums.
Governor Mutfwang extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving families, affected communities, and those injured in the unfortunate incidents. He urged them to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities for swift intervention.
The governor commended the role of security agencies in restoring calm and normalcy to the affected areas, calling for continued collaboration between security agencies and the government to ensure maximum protection for all citizens.
Emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy for further security breaches in the affected areas, the governor asserted that the government would not tolerate any breakdown of law and order in any part of the state. He urged security agencies to intensify efforts to guarantee absolute peace across the state.
Simultaneously, an inter-religious council meeting among leaders of religious organizations and community leaders is underway in Mangu as part of efforts to address the lingering security breaches in the local government area.
