In response to the recent attacks by gunmen resulting in loss of lives and property, Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has implemented a 24-hour curfew in the Mangu Local Government Area.

The announcement was made on Sunday through a statement issued by the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere.

The curfew aims to maintain security and ensure the safety of residents in the affected area.

The statement read, “The Governor, in consultation with the State Security Council, imposed the curfew on the entire Local Government Area to restore law and order.

“Consequently, movements within the Local Government have been banned until further notice except for security personnel and persons on essential duties.

“Security agencies have therefore been directed to ensure total enforcement of the curfew.”

The statement further provided reassurance to the people, stating that the government is actively engaged in efforts to restore peace and security in the state.

According to reports, this recent curfew imposed in the Mangu Local Government Area on Sunday marks the second instance within a span of less than one month. The repeated imposition of curfews highlights the urgency and gravity of the security situation in the area.
