Poco Lee’s management break silence over sexual assault allegations, rejects drink-spiking claims
The management of Nigerian dancer and singer Poco Lee has spoken out over the sexual assault case involving the entertainer in the United Kingdom.
In a statement released on Tuesday, August 25, the management confirmed that the case is currently before a UK court and appealed to the public to allow the judicial process to run its course.
The team warned against treating the allegations as proven, noting that Poco Lee has not been convicted of any offence.
“Allegations are not evidence of guilt, and no conclusions should be drawn until the matter has been heard and determined through the appropriate legal process,” the statement said.
The management also responded to claims circulating online about alleged drink-spiking, stating that such allegations are not part of the case currently before the court.
“We ask the public and media to desist from introducing details that are not part of the actual case, as doing so only fuels misinformation and causes unfair prejudice to all parties involved,” the statement added.
Reports of Poco Lee’s arrest in the UK surfaced on August 19, with reports connecting his detention to an alleged sexual assault. At the time, British authorities had not publicly established details about the case, including the identity of the alleged victim or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Separately, Texas-based Nigerian rapper Ms Jorji made allegations against Poco Lee in videos posted online. She claimed that he attempted to sexually assault her and her girlfriend about two years ago while they were visiting his home in Dallas.
However, the claims have not been independently verified by a court or law enforcement agency, and there is no established link between the allegations and the ongoing UK case.
Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Pascal Odinaka, gained prominence after featuring in Zlatan Ibile’s “Zanku (Legwork)” music video in 2018. He has since established himself as one of Nigeria’s notable dancers and entertainers, collaborating with leading artistes including Davido, Burna Boy, Olamide and Naira Marley.
His management said any further developments concerning the case would be communicated through official channels and urged the public to remain patient and restrained while the legal proceedings continue.
