The Niger State Police Command has detained Victoria Akinnowonu, a 23-year-old woman, for scamming 72 persons in the state.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Police claimed that Victoria specialises in using online displays to draw customers to products like women’s clothing, handbags, shoes, phones, laptops, and other technological devices.
Victoria admitted to amassing a sizable internet customer base that frequently made orders for similar things. She continued by saying that despite receiving payment for several of the orders, she was unable to complete them.
The police said about 72 people have come forward to give statements on how they were defrauded by the suspect since her arrest.
The suspect is undergoing interrogation at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna.
