Police apprehend three suspects for alleged theft in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has announced the apprehension of two individuals in connection with the purported theft of nine mobile phones within Bauchi metropolis.

The command additionally detained another individual for reportedly seizing a motorcycle in Bauchi metropolis.

This information was conveyed in a statement issued by the Command’s Spokesman, SP Ahmed Wakil, on Sunday in Bauchi.

According to him, officers of the command apprehended the suspects (whose identities were withheld) near Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium with mobile phones believed to have been stolen from various places in Gombe.

“The suspects offered gratification to a public servant, which was, however, rejected,” he said.

He mentioned that the police confiscated quantities of marijuana, and an amount of N78,000 was tendered as a bribe in an attempt to influence the investigation.

Wakil added that officers of the command apprehended an individual (whose name was withheld) for purportedly stabbing a commercial motorcycle operator on Ningj-Banachi Road.

“The suspect perpetrated the heinous act to obtain the motorcycle from his victim,” he said.

The spokesman said the Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa, directed a discreet investigation of the case, adding that the suspects would soon be charged to court.
