Police, Army thwart bandits’ attack, rescue 10 kidnap victims in Katsina

In cooperation with the Military, the Katsina State Police Command has successfully rescued ten individuals who were abducted along the Kukar Babangida and Yan Gayya Feeder Road in the state.

On Sunday, February 25, 2024, around 10:40 a.m., a joint patrol team encountered a severe attack by suspected bandits armed with AK-47 rifles while conducting routine patrol along the feeder road between Kukar Babangida and Yan Gayya in Katsina State.

According to a statement by Abubakar Aliyu, the spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, the proficient patrol team swiftly retaliated, thwarting the assault and rescuing the ten individuals who had been abducted.

The statement also highlighted that Commissioner of Police Aliyu Musa praised the officers for their remarkable bravery and urged the citizens of the state to continue supporting the command and other security agencies by providing timely information to combat crime effectively.

Additionally, he reiterated the command’s unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety of Katsina State.
