A 43-year-old man, Lateef Suleiman, has been apprehended in the Sepeteri area of Oyo State for allegedly killing his elder brother after accusing him of attacking him in a dream.

Confirmation of the incident was provided in a statement issued on Tuesday by the spokesperson of the Oyo State Police Command, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka.

Police said the suspect, who resides at the Alegunlode compound in Sepeteri, allegedly awoke believing that his 52-year-old brother, Mustapha Amidu, had shot him while he was asleep.

Instead of disregarding the experience as a dream, Suleiman reportedly confronted his brother as he sat outside, seized a large stone and struck him on the head before escaping from the scene.

The victim was rushed to Ileri Oluwa Hospital in Sepeteri, where he was pronounced dead by the attending physician.

Sources disclosed that the suspect was later traced and taken into custody. He is said to have admitted to the act and is currently cooperating with investigators.

The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Femi Haruna, has ordered that the matter be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough and discreet inquiry. He assured the public that justice would be pursued in line with the law.
