Police arrest artisan for defiling five-year-old girl in Gombe

Parade 30-year-old cattle rustler for stealing

Operatives of Gombe State Police Command have arrested a 20-year-old auto mechanic, Babangida Isa, for allegedly defiling a five-year-old girl.

The girl (names withheld) was on an errand for her mother at Bajoga, in Funakaye Local Council, when Babangida stopped and allegedly lured her to a nearby Almajiri school where he forcefully defiled her.

The girl’s seven-year-old elder brother who caught the rapist pants-down, however, ran home to alert his parents.
Spokesperson for the Command, Mahid Abubakar, told newsmen, yesterday, that the incident occurred last Tuesday.

He said: “On June 6, 2023, at about 5:00p.m., one Yahaya Isah of Bajoga Police division reported that Babangida Isah lured his five-year-old daughter to one Almajiri school and forcefully abused her sexually.”Also, the Command has paraded a 30-year-old cattle rustler, Sale Kabo, of Bandila village via Gulani Local Council, Yobe State, for allegedly stealing 21 cattle belonging to one Jauro Ahmadu, 75, of Shuwari village via Bajoga in Funakaye Local Council.

Police spokesperson said the cattle valued at N7 million were stolen at night.

“All the stolen cows and other relevant exhibits have been recovered and the suspect is currently in police custody and would be charged in court as soon as investigation is concluded,” he assured.
