The Ogun State Police Command announced on Friday that its officers had apprehended four individuals — 50-year-old Inidana Muhammad, 40-year-old Ali-Asan Makun Muhammad, 30-year-old Ahmed Isa, and 23-year-old Saliu Isa — over allegations of impersonation, forgery, and actions capable of disrupting public peace in the Sabo Under-Bridge area of Sagamu.

According to a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, the arrests followed a distress call received by the Divisional Police Officer of Sakura Division on November 20, 2025, around 08:00 hours, alerting authorities that some persons were extorting residents with fake ACOMORAN revenue tickets.

She stated, “Inidana Muhammad, male, 50; Ali-Asan Makun Muhammad, male, 40; Ahmed Isa, male, 30; and Saliu Isa, male, 23, were arrested for being in possession of forged receipts, which they used to fraudulently collect revenue from motorcycle operators and traders.”

Odutola further disclosed that investigations showed the counterfeit tickets were supplied by one Yinusa (surname unknown), said to be living in Sabo and currently on the run.

The suspects, she added, will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for a comprehensive investigation and possible prosecution.

Commenting on the case, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, issued a firm warning to miscreants and troublemakers who hinder the legitimate activities of commercial motorcycle operators. He stressed that illegal union activities would no longer be condoned and would now attract swift police action.

The command reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on impersonation, forgery, extortion, and any conduct that threatens public order, noting that it remains committed to ensuring a secure and law-abiding environment for all.

A similar incident reported by PUNCH Online in February 2020 involved the arrest of two men — Monday Job and Rasak Oloyede — by the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit for allegedly impersonating security officers. Job reportedly posed as a police officer to ride his motorcycle on restricted routes, while Oloyede allegedly impersonated an army officer to perpetrate fraudulent activities along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. The agency’s chairman, Olayinka Egbeyemi, said both suspects resorted to impersonation to evade arrest by patrolling security personnel.
