Police operatives from the Assakio Division, working alongside local vigilantes, have successfully raided kidnappers’ hideouts in Angara and Fadaman Bauna villages in Lafia East Development Area, Lafia Local Government, Nasarawa State.
The operation resulted in the arrest of six suspected kidnappers and the safe rescue of three victims—two females and one male—SP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer, stated in a press release in Lafia on Friday.
According to Nansel, the victims were unharmed, promptly attended to, and reunited with their families.
“This operation followed a complaint lodged on 07/01/2026, reporting that suspected kidnappers invaded Angara village and abducted two females, leaving behind an infant, and later kidnapped another male in the same village. Acting on this information, the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, immediately ordered a manhunt for the perpetrators, which culminated in the successful arrest of the suspects and the rescue of the victims,” he said.
Nansel added that the suspects confessed to the crime and have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation and prosecution, as directed by the Commissioner of Police.
He further assured residents of Nasarawa State of the command’s ongoing commitment to tackling all forms of criminal activity across the state.
