Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two additional suspects linked to the abduction of Mrs Folasade Odumosu, wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police Hakeem Odumosu.

The suspects, identified as 27-year-old Agbojule Smart and 30-year-old Keleke Michael, were apprehended on Friday by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Special Squad. The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued at Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The suspects, intercepted while attempting to leave Lagos State, confessed to their involvement in the crime and membership in a four-man gang, two members of which had previously been neutralised.

Recovered items included N2.25 million, believed to be part of the ransom, two locally fabricated rifles, and 11 live cartridges.

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commended the operatives for their swift action, urging them to maintain high standards in combating crime.

Mrs Odumosu was abducted last Thursday near her residence in Arepo, Ogun State. She was rescued on Wednesday in an operation led by Ogun State Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo, during which some kidnappers were neutralised.
