The Kaduna State Police Command has uncovered an illegal factory engaged in the production of adulterated soya bean oil in the Mararaban Jos area of Igabi Local Government Area.

According to a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, the raid was carried out by officers from the State Intelligence Department (SID), led by SP Sani Bello, following a credible intelligence report.

The illegal operation was being run from a fenced plot of land situated along Mamadi Road, Mararaban Jos. Three suspects—Nasiru Usman (the alleged owner), Zailani Shuaibu, and Salisu Usman—all residents of Mararaban Jos, were arrested during the operation.

Items recovered from the site included two drums of suspected raw materials known locally as “croops”, fifteen 25-litre jerrycans containing semi-processed products, two jerrycans of finished adulterated soya bean oil, and an empty drum used for local processing.

The Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad Muhammad, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting public health and dismantling illegal operations that pose risks to citizens.

He urged residents to remain alert and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station promptly.
