Police confirm another shooting incident in Owo weeks after terrorists’ attack on Ondo town

The Ondo State Police Command, on Wednesday night, confirmed a shooting incident in Owo, Ondo State.

The report of the incident came amid rising insecurity in some parts of the country.

In a tweet via the official handle of the state command @OndoPoliceNg, the security agency stated, “Tonight, there was a shooting incident at CRANEBURG CONSTRUCTION COMPANY Owo, Policemen are currently at the scene, victims have been taken to Hospital and they are in stable condition”.

Recall that terrorists had in June attacked the St. Francis Catholic church in Owo, killing over 40 worshippers and injuring dozens of parishioners during a Sunday service.

The terrorist attack on the church had been described as a “massacre” and drew condemnation from both local and international organisations.

The World Health Organisation donated drugs, equipment, and consumables to the victims, and several individuals, mostly politicians, donated millions in cash.

Among them were the Nigerian Governors Forum; APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu; and the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Also, the Ondo government had shortly after the attack opened an account for public donations to the victims of the church attack.
