Seven missing children from Bauchi State have been found and reunited with their parents.
During a state ceremony at the Government House, the police officially handed over to Governor Bala Mohammed the children who were allegedly transported to other areas of the country.
According to the Bauchi Commissioner of Police, Auwal Mohammed, the youngsters were sold for monies ranging from N300,000 to N400,000.
The syndicate involved in the alleged trafficking was apprehended by the police authorities in Kano State and has since transferred the case to the Bauchi State Police Command.
While expressing concern over the development, Governor Bala pledged to provide one million naira each in support of each child’s education and cautioned parents to take on greater responsibility.
