The Lagos State Police Command has invited Amarah Kennedy, a businessman residing in Lagos, for an inquiry regarding the dissemination of explicit photographs of his former romantic partners.
According to reports, Kennedy has persistently circulated nude pictures of two single mothers with whom he was previously involved.
It was gathered that he shared these photos via the WhatsApp platform of a church affiliated with one of the women, known only as Kester.
Additionally, he sent the photographs to the deceased husband’s relatives and workplace.
“By the time I am done, suicide will be her only option,” Kennedy stated.
Kester confirmed that her in-laws and pastor had called to show solidarity with her.
On Tuesday alone, Kennedy sent the nude photos to at least 48 people.
In a series of tweets on Wednesday, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, urged Amarah Kennedy to present himself to the police for interrogation.
Hundeyin further revealed that the officer who was accused of soliciting a bribe in relation to the case at Pen Cinema has been transferred to the Provost for investigation and subsequent orderly room trial.
Hundeyin said, “The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, yesterday Tuesday, July 4, 2023 met with the survivor of this ugly incident in his office.
“The CP, while assuring the survivor of justice, has directed the Police Medical Services, Lagos State Command to provide her with adequate psychosocial support.
“The suspect, Amarah Kennedy, is advised to submit himself to prove his innocence as failure to do so will result in deploying all law enforcement machinery available to secure his apprehension and prosecution accordingly.
“Meanwhile, the officer, Inspector Raphael Edeifo, accused of demanding money to take up the case at Pen Cinema has been handed over to the Provost for investigation and orderly room trial, if found culpable.
“CP Owohunwa has given firm assurances that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure that the long arm of the law catches up with the suspect.”
