The Anambra State Police Command has reported the killing of two suspected armed robbers during a gun battle with suspected criminals in Eziowele, Idemili North Local Government Area.

The incident followed intelligence received by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, concerning the alleged presence of armed robbery and kidnapping suspects in the area.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, two suspects sustained fatal gunshot wounds during the confrontation, while other members of the group escaped with injuries.

The police recovered an AK-47 rifle fitted with a magazine containing four rounds of live ammunition, alongside a pump-action gun and five live cartridges.
