Police nab 24-year-old man for stealing cables in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad has arrested a 24-year-old individual from Niger, named Seidu Ali, on suspicion of stealing electrical cables.

The apprehension of the suspect took place on Wednesday on the Third Mainland Bridge, as disclosed by the Lagos State Police Command on its official Twitter handle on Thursday.

The tweet read, “Yesterday, around 1pm, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad on routine patrol of Third Mainland Bridge arrested a suspected cable thief and retrieved from him four bounded strands of cables.

“The arrest of the suspect, a Nigerien, Seidu Ali (24), was the second in three weeks.”

“He had earlier been arrested and reprimanded for attempting to steal cable on Third Mainland Bridge.”

“Four bounded strands of cables were retrieved from him.”

The RRS Commander, Olayinka Egbeyemi, reportedly instructed that the suspect be promptly taken to court for prosecution.
