The police in Kaduna State have detained 530 people for a variety of offences including banditry, armed livestock rustling, culpable homicide, rail track vandalism, and other connected offences.
One of the suspects is Ismail Mohammed of Maijere Village Saminaka in the state’s Lere local government area, who kidnapped and later killed his brother, Kabiru Mohammed, after demanding N120,000 in ransom from the family.
The accused were apprehended between May and June 2023, according to the spokesman of Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Muhammed Jalige, who was accompanying them to the command’s headquarters.
