The Police in Edo State have nabbed a group of fake herbalists who cheat unsuspecting people out of their money.

The Commissioner of Police in Edo State, Muhammed Dankwara, displayed the suspects who were apprehended by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Edo State Police Command during an inquiry into a fraudulent monetary scheme.

According to the police, the individuals, pretending to be herbalists, encountered one of their victims on Ugbor Road. They claimed that a death curse loomed over the victim’s family unless he underwent a spiritual and financial purification.

The victim disclosed that he had paid the gang over N5 million for the purported spiritual cleansing.

In the meantime, the Command showcased a 24-year-old man accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a girl, resulting in severe physical harm. His apprehension followed a report from the girl’s parents regarding her declining health.

The Police have indicated that once the investigations are concluded, the suspects will face legal charges in court.
