Police nab nine suspects for killing NSCDC operative in Osun

The Osun State Police Command has arrested nine suspects, allegedly involved in crisis over kingship tussle at Araromi-Owu in Ayedade Local Government Area which led to the killing of a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) operative and one other.

Recalled that a crisis ensued on Tuesday, which resulted in the burning of Araomi-Owu Palace and several houses, destruction of property and loss of life after a group kicked against the installation of the king.

Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, said: “We have arrested nine people in connection with the crisis in Orile-Owu and Araromi-Owu.”

Meanwhile, the Olowu of Orile-Owu, Oba Dauda Akinfalabi in a petition through his lawyer, Bola Adebowale, urged the Commissioner of Police to arrest those that engineered attempted murder, unlawful attempt to install a king at Araromi-Owu and conduct likely to breach of the peace in the area.
