Police nab suspected kidnapper, recover arms in Kaduna

The Kaduna Police Command detains a 35-year-old man (identity concealed) for suspected involvement in kidnapping within the state.

The police, in a statement by ASP Mansir Hassan, the Command’s Spokesman, disclosed the recovery of arms and ammunition during a raid at the suspect’s residence.

The suspect was apprehended on February 29 by operatives of the CP Monitoring Unit at his residence in Ganga Uku village, Mararaban Jos.

The spokesperson stated that the operatives seized various items, including a fabricated cartridge revolver rifle, a fabricated pistol, two Dane guns, six live cartridges, one discharged GPRG ammunition, seven discharged cartridges, and a blood-stained cutlass.

The police spokesman said the suspect on Feb. 13, connived with others now at large, and kidnapped one Samaila Abdullahi, 40, at Keke Kingdom area of Mararaban Jos.
“The victim was forcefully taken to an unknown destination,” he said.

 

He said the suspect is now in custody, adding that, “this successful operation underscores the overall commitment of the police command, led by Commissioner of Police, Mr Ali Dabigi C, to maintain law and order in Kaduna State”.
