Police nab three suspected cable thieves in Lagos

Police in Lagos State have apprehended three individuals suspected of involvement in cable theft in the Ojodu locality of the state.

The state’s police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, verified the arrest via his official X account, @benHundeyin, on Wednesday.

He named the apprehended individuals as Babatunde Murutu, Segun Lawal, and Adebayo Iyanu, stating that they were nabbed during a routine stop-and-search operation.

“At about 3:20 a.m., officers of Ojodu Division on midnight patrol stopped the three men from searching for the contents of their bags.

“They found cables, screwdrivers, and scissors.

“Further interrogation and investigation revealed that they had just stolen the cables from a building in the neighbourhood,” he said.

According to the police spokesperson, the suspects will face charges once the investigation is completed.
