Police nab three suspected robbery syndicate in Ogun

Police operatives have nabbed three suspected members of a robbery syndicate shortly after they allegedly robbed a company in Ogijo in Sagamu area of Ogun State.

The suspects, Shadrach Blessing, 25, Edibo Peter, 25, and Osuwgu Oyebuchi, 27, were arrested on Saturday by detectives attached to Ogijo divisional police headquarters.

The suspects were said to have invaded Ruthfort Service Limited at Ikorodu Sagamu Road Ogijo, scaled the high perimeter fence at about 2.45am after cutting the security wire.

At gunpoint, they also ordred the security guard to lie face down while they removed four industrial batteries from the company’s facility and escaped into the street.

The Divisional Police Officer for Ogijo division, Onatufeh Umoh, who was alerted about incident, was said to have led his team and some members of the public to chase the suspected robbers and arrested three of them.

Police Spokesperson   Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest of the three yesterday, said other suspects escaped.

Oyeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said four industrial batteries were recovered from them.

According to him, the suspects will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation.
