Police nab two for ‘robbery, attempted murder’ of Lil Kesh in Lagos

The Kano State Police Command has apprehended two suspects linked to the robbery and attempted murder of Nigerian rapper Lil Kesh in Lagos.

The incident happened last month when the assailants attacked the artiste, also known as Keshinro Ololade, in an effort to steal his jewelry.

During the assault, Lil Kesh sustained stab wounds to his neck and part of his ear. Graphic photos of his injuries later surfaced online, sparking concern among fans.

He was immediately taken to a hospital where doctors treated him and stitched his wounds.

A few days later, Lil Kesh reassured his supporters with an update, describing the ordeal as a “curveball” from life that he narrowly escaped. The 30-year-old thanked God for his safety and appreciated the overwhelming support from fans.

In a recent statement, police confirmed the arrest of the suspects, identified as Mathew Adewole and Mukhtar Muhammad, in Na’ibawa Quarters, Kano.

The statement further revealed that N2.12 million, allegedly stolen during the attack, was recovered.

According to the police, the suspects have been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command for prosecution.

“Kano State Police Command nabs 2 suspects in Na’ibawa Quarters Kano, Mathew Adewole & Mukhtar Muhammad, in connection with armed robbery & attempted murder of Lil-Kesh at Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos,” the statement reads.

“Stolen N2.12m recovered & suspects handed over to Lagos Police for prosecution, #Justice Served.”
