Police Inspector Mohammed Bulama, of Police Mobile Force (PMF) 41 in Yobe State, has been arrested for the killing of 39-year-old civilian Abdulmalik Dauda in Damaturu, the state capital.
The incident occurred after a heated argument between Bulama and the victim over “uncleared transactions” in the Zango area of Damaturu, during which Bulama allegedly stabbed Dauda in the chest.
According to the state’s police spokesperson, Dungus Abdulkarim, the incident took place on September 29, 2024. Bulama has been arrested, and investigations into the homicide are underway.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, has ordered the immediate investigation into the homicide incident involving Inspector Mohammed Bulama, attached to Police Mobile Force PMF 41 Division Damaturu,” he said.
The spokesperson further explained that Bulama has been taken into police custody, where he awaits internal disciplinary action and prosecution.
Commissioner of Police Garba Ahmed condemned Bulama’s actions, extended condolences to Dauda’s family, and assured the public that justice would be served.
