Police promote 14 CPs, 1,883 others

The commission elevated 14 Commissioners of Police to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General of Police.

Furthermore, AIG Dasuki Galadanci received a promotion to the position of Deputy Inspector General, where he will serve as the representative for the North-West Zone.

Ikechukwu Ani, the Head of Press and Public Relations at the Police Service Commission, unveiled these advancements in a statement issued on Wednesday.

The statement mentioned that the Chairman of the PSC, Dr. Solomon Arase, stated that the senior officers underwent interviews conducted by the commission prior to the approval of their promotions.

Arase further indicated that the approvals had been communicated to the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, for implementation.

Additionally, he noted that the promotion of one Commissioner of Police was temporarily deferred to allow the commission to review pending disciplinary issues involving the officer.Ani’s statement read in part, “The new AIGs are: Yetunde Longe, CP Eastern Ports, Port Harcourt; Haruna Garba, CP Federal Capital Territory; Tajudeen Abass, CP Delta State;  Rex Dundun, CP General Investigation, FCID Annex Kaduna;  Durosinmi Olatoye, CP Akwa Ibom State;  Afolabi Adeniyi, CP Adamawa State;  Abiodun Asabi, CP Ondo State;  CP  Julius Okoro; CP Plateau state;  George Huku, CP Benue State; Paul Omata, CP K9 Force Headquarters; Yusuf Akeem, CP Research and Development, Force Headquarters; Bzigu Dali, CP Osun State;  Idris Nagoyo, Police Mounted troop Squadron and CP Ogundare Emmanuel, CP Ekiti State.”
