Police promote 160 officers in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dalijan, recently decorated newly promoted officers with their new ranks in Zamfara State.

This follows the recent promotion of 160 personnel within the Zamfara State Police Command by the Nigerian Police Force.

Addressing the newly decorated officers at the state police command headquarters on Friday, Commissioner Dalijan stated that the promotion is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance the morale and motivation of officers engaged in the fight against insecurity in the region.

He emphasized that the promotion serves not only as recognition of their past efforts but also as a call to greater service amidst the continuing security challenges.

“You have to thank God for the elevation, this promotion is to change the way you do your things, the way you think, the way you plan and operate are all to change to reflect your new rank, to whom much is given, much is expected.”

“We are going to give you new roles to play which will reflect your new rank, you have to pray hard because there are a lot of expectations, we expect better performance and better crime-fighting strategies must be adopted in order for us to know that yes, you are wearing new ranks.”

CP Dalijan encouraged the newly promoted officers to intensify their efforts in combating banditry, highlighting that their new ranks bring increased responsibilities.

Additionally, 84 Assistant Superintendents of Police II (ASP II) were promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP I), and 76 Inspectors were elevated to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II).
