Other Security Operations
In Sokoto, police operatives, in collaboration with other security agencies, conducted raids on several criminal hotspots and bandit camps on 25th November.
During the operations, security personnel cleared the camps and recovered AK-47 rifles and several magazines, each loaded with 30 rounds of live ammunition.
Similarly, on 28th November, police operatives attached to the Delta State Command intercepted a group of suspected kidnappers during a gunfight.
“The suspects were overpowered and forced to flee into a nearby bush, sustaining bullet injuries in the process,” Adejobi revealed.
A search of the suspects’ operational vehicle led to the recovery of three AK-47 rifles, two pump-action rifles, one AK-47 magazine, eight rounds of live AR ammunition, and 21 live cartridges.
The occupants of the camp fled upon spotting the security operatives, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend them.
