Police rescue four kidnapped victims tied down by kidnappers in Edo

Police officers from the Okada Division have successfully rescued four individuals who had been kidnapped and bound by their captors in Edo State.

According to a statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Command, SP Moses Yamu, the victims were freed on Sunday around 2:00 PM after a distress call reported a kidnapping along the Okada-Ayekun camp road near Utese.

 

The victims namely David Ayanbode 60yrs, Elizabeth Akpoyomare 40yrs, Excel Akpoyomare 10yrs & Flourish Akpoyomare 8yrs were rescued unhurt after a gun duel, the statement said.

“The kidnappers succumbed to the superior firepower of the Police and fled leaving their victims who were tied down. The victims have been reunited with their families while efforts to arrest the fleeing suspects is ongoing,” the statement added.
