The Nigeria Police Force has disclosed that it will investigate the officer seen in a viral video opening a car door for music artiste, Spyro.
On his Twitter account, Spyro posted a clip of a police officer opening a car door for him as he was visiting his old neighbourhood.
The artiste claimed that he visited his former home because he felt the need to express gratitude to God for everything that he has done for him.
However, the footage infuriated online users, who were quick to criticise the uniformed, armed police officer’s behaviour.
The Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, responded by acknowledging the footage and said that the police are searching for the officer.
Adejobi described his action as “unprofessional and ridiculous.”
He maintained that the force would stop such deployments/attachments immediately.
“This is indeed unprofessional and ridiculous. The video will be sent to relevant offices and units to fish him out.
“We will stop some deployments or attachments asap. U can imagine him (guess an inspector of police), moving with and opening the door for him,” he wrote.
