Premier league deletes statement on slot’s ban

Arne Slot could still be in the dugout for Liverpool’s Premier League match against Wolves this weekend, despite reportedly receiving a two-match touchline ban following his red card in the Merseyside derby.

Liverpool were set to extend their lead at the top of the table on Wednesday before Everton’s James Tarkowski equalised with a stunning volley in stoppage time.

Abdoulaye Doucoure’s celebrations sparked a confrontation with Curtis Jones, resulting in both players being sent off. Amidst the chaos, Slot and assistant Sipke Hulshoff were also dismissed by referee Michael Oliver.

The Premier League initially announced Slot’s two-match ban for using offensive language but later deleted the statement. The FA is still reviewing Oliver’s report, meaning a final decision may not be made before Sunday’s match at Anfield.

Slot previously served a one-match touchline ban earlier this season after accumulating three yellow cards.
