Controversial TikTok personality and disc jockey, Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has allegedly been taken into custody over a recent video in which he made comments about President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu.

The claim was made by his lawyer, Rotimi Stephen, in a video posted on Instagram on Thursday.

Stephen alleged that his client was arrested in the Ikeja area of Lagos before being moved to the Ikeja Police Headquarters, adding that he suspects the Department of State Services is handling the matter.

He said, “So, Dj Chicken is now with the authorities. He was arrested at Ikeja and he is now at Ikeja Police headquarters but I am very sure it is the DSS. He was arrested in connection with the statement he made some days ago about the son of the president, Seyi Tinubu.”

The lawyer appealed to the Presidency and the entertainer’s supporters to show mercy, insisting that DJ Chicken should be forgiven for his actions.

According to him, the social media personality has been under his guidance for years, describing him as someone he has tried to help through his legal practice.

He pleaded, “Please, fans and well wishers please. People that like Chicken and people that are close with the presidency please forgive Chicken. He is not that okay. We are just managing him. Chicken is my own personal project. It is my own part of giving back to the society.

“I just picked interest in him as a criminal lawyer. We are just managing him and he knows. he is still part of the society. We are begging please. Government should please forgive him. We will do everything.”

Speaking further, Stephen said, “I don’t know what to do again. They should please.”

DJ Chicken recently came under criticism after a video surfaced online in which he made controversial remarks about Seyi Tinubu.

In the clip, he stated in Yoruba, “Tinubu, you can’t win the election. If you win, I will kill Seyi Tinubu. I won’t say more than that.”

As of the time this report was filed, the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services had yet to issue any official statement confirming the alleged arrest or explaining the circumstances surrounding the detention.
