On Thursday, hoodlums attacked the State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State. The attackers also set fire to vehicles parked on the premises.
In addition, the #EndBadGovernance protests turned violent in the Hadejia area of the state. In the state capital, protesters who marched to the Government House were dispersed by security agents.
A similar situation occurred in neighboring Kano State, where hoodlums took advantage of the nationwide protests to set vehicles on fire at the State High Court premises. The newly constructed Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) Industrial Park in Kano was also looted on the first day of the protests against economic hardship.
The protests, which began on Thursday, have intensified in various parts of Kano and Jigawa, both located in the North-West geopolitical zone. In response, Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has imposed a 24-hour curfew.
