Protesters block Gov Fubara’s convoy, tell him to address them

Protesters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, briefly obstructed Governor Siminalayi Fubara, insisting that he comes down to address them.

This incident occurred on the third day of the protests, which began on August 1, 2024.

The demonstrators, waving green leaves and shouting enthusiastically, lined the streets as the governor’s convoy passed.

Despite the disruption, the governor’s convoy continued on, while the protesters maintained their rally.

The group had gathered at Pleasure Park for the third consecutive day, holding placards and insisting they would stay until their demands were addressed.

Saturday’s protests in Port Harcourt were largely peaceful, with security operatives present to monitor the situation.
