Over the weekend, a powerful rainstorm ravaged Zogirma village in Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State, destroying more than 100 homes.
The storm, which began late Saturday and lasted into the early hours of Sunday, left numerous residents injured and displaced many families, according to locals.
According to reports, Malam Muhammed Umar Mawo, Secretary of Bunza Local Government, visited the affected area to assess the damage and extend the council chairman’s sympathies to the victims.
Local authorities have begun compiling a report on the extent of the damage for submission to the state government, with the aim of securing relief materials and other forms of support.
Displaced residents have called for urgent assistance, including roofing materials, food, and medical aid, as they struggle to recover from the impact of the storm.
