Remi Tinubu donates N500m to Maiduguri flood victims

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N500 million to support the victims of the recent flood in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The donation was made during a visit to Maiduguri to express sympathy to the Borno State government over the devastating flood, which affected over two million residents. The First Lady was represented by the wife of the Vice President, Nana Kashim Shettima.

Accompanying the delegation were the wives of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Deputy Senate President, the governors of Lagos and Yobe states, as well as wives of ministers and other presidential aides.

The delegation’s first stop was at the Shehu of Borno’s palace, where they extended their condolences following the flood, which also impacted the palace and surrounding areas.

At the Government House, they were received by Governor Babagana Zulum, along with Borno State National Assembly members, the Speaker of the State Assembly, and other members of the state executive council.

Speaking on behalf of the First Lady, Nana Shettima praised Governor Zulum for his dedication to governance and expressed condolences to the people of Borno State. She then announced the N500 million donation to support the flood victims.
