Reps express worry over suspension of Betta Edu, tell FG to hasten investigation

The House of Representatives is voicing apprehension over the suspension of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Betta Edu, which has resulted in the cessation of the implementation of the Social Investment Programme. This interruption is adversely affecting the masses, particularly those who are most in need of these interventions.

After discussions on the floor of the Green Chambers today, lawmakers expressed concern that suspending these humanitarian programs during a period of escalating hunger and inflation is detrimental to the country.

Furthermore, the House expressed unease over the proposal for the social investment program to be overseen by the Minister of Finance, Olawale Edun, considering it as an irregularity. ‘
