Marcus Onobun, a House of Representatives member, narrowly avoided a fatal accident while en route to Abuja.

According to Tony Aziegbemi, the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, who provided confirmation on Friday, Onobun, the former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, suffered injuries in the accident.

Presently, he is receiving medical attention at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, but his condition is not critical. Aziegbemi further mentioned that he spoke to Onobun during a hospital visit on Thursday.

“I can confirm to you that he had an accident on Wednesday and he had fractures in some parts of his body but he is responding and not in critical condition.

“When I visited him on Thursday, we spoke and he even told me how the incident happened. I wish him a quick recovery so that he can get back on his feet and contribute to the development of his people as he has always done,” Aziegbemi added.

Onobun who serves as the representative for Esan West, Esan Central, and Igueben Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, allegedly suffered multiple fractures after the vehicle he was traveling in veered off the road and plunged into a ditch along the Ekpoma-Abuja Highway.
