The House Committee on Public Assets vowed on Tuesday to recover assets belonging to the nation that were obtained through a fraudulent process.
Ademorin Kuye, the committee’s Chairman, stated this in Abuja at a one-day retreat organised by the panel on the theme “Guardian of Public Trust: Transforming Public Assets Oversight and Legislation.”
Fielding questions on the sidelines of the retreat, Kuye said, “As the chairman of this committee, I am ready to step on toes. We are determined to recover any national asset in the hands of powerful forces acquired fraudulently.
“Even the ones that were concessioned, we will make sure that they are properly managed in line with the provisions of the law. We have the backing of Mr President and the National Assembly to do this.”
