Pop sensation Rihanna has generated significant online discussion after the name of her child was revealed, one year following his birth.

The 35-year-old singer and her partner A$AP Rocky, aged 34, joyfully welcomed their first child together in May 2022. As per the obtained birth certificate, the baby boy has been named RZA Athelston Mayers.

It is speculated that the name pays homage to the renowned producer and rapper RZA, who is a prominent figure in the influential hip-hop collective known as the Wu-Tang Clan, which includes members such as RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and the late Ol’ Dirty B**tard.

Since giving birth, the acclaimed Grammy-winning artist has been seen wearing attire that showcases her support for the Wu-Tang Clan, further reinforcing these claims.

RZA, who was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, is thought to have received his father’s middle name, Athelston. Prior to the name revelation, many had assumed that his name was Noah.

Since the announcement, fans have flocked to various social media platforms to express their opinions and reactions to this revelation.

One fan tweeted; “Not Rihanna naming that baby after a Wu-Tang Clan, I can see why she tried to keep it secret.”

Another tweeted; “Now I know d**n well Rihanna ain’t name that baby that…”

“I know Rihanna let A$AP pick that damn name. She really in love,” said another.”
