Ritual killing: Oyo police remove three mutilated corpses

The Oyo State Police Command removed three mutilated bodies of youths murdered by unidentified individuals in Ibadan, the state capital, on Tuesday.

According to reports, the victims were killed in the early hours of Monday near Office Bus Stop, after World Oil Petrol Station, on the New Ibadan-Oyo Expressway in the state’s Akinyele Local Government Area.

One of them was beheaded, and vital organs were extracted from the other two bodies.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, said the removal of the bodies was in public interest.

Osifeso said, “Yes, the corpses were removed this morning (Tuesday). It was done in public interest, public safety and to prevent the spread of epidemic. Investigation has already commenced and update will be provided accordingly.”

Sources revealed that unpleasant odour had taken over the scene before the arrival of the policemen who took the bodies away.

A commercial driver, Abdulfatai AbdulGaniyu, said, “I saw the lifeless bodies in the morning when I was carrying passengers from Ojoo to Toose. The case looks like ritual killing because one of them was beheaded.”
