Rival cult clashes in Ondo claim four lives

Four people have lost their lives in a violent clash between two suspected cult groups in Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area in Ondo State.

Local sources reported that one of the victims, 52-year-old Fisayo Oladipupo, a former youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Owo LGA, was fatally shot early Monday morning by individuals believed to be cultists.

His body has been taken to the morgue at the Federal Medical Centre in Owo.

Confirming the incident, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, stated that four fatalities were recorded in the clash.

She noted that while the police are still investigating whether Oladipupo, an APC member, is among the deceased, a police team has been deployed. Normalcy has since been restored in the area.
