The Rivers State House of Assembly, chaired by Rt Hon Martin Amaewhule, has invited the nine commissioners who resigned last month to be screened.

This was said by Emeka Amadi, Clerk of the Rivers State House of Assembly, in a statement issued on Monday.

Remember that the reappointment of the commissioners who resigned was part of the 8-point peace plan inked by Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

The statement reads as follows:

“Nominees are to come along with 40 sets of Curriculum Vitae (CV), photocopies of their credentials and their originals.”

The move came months after the nominees resigned their positions as commissioners in the Fubara cabinet owing to the political impasse between Wike, the immediate past governor of the state, and Fubara.

President Bola Tinubu had waded into the crisis and brokered peace between the duo, leading to the signing of an eight-point resolution. Their re-nomination is part of the peace deal.
