Rivers: Gov Fubara likens ‘rift’ with predecessor to ‘dispute between father and son’

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara expressed optimism on Wednesday that the political issue involving him and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, would be addressed.

He stated that there is nothing wrong with a father and son having problems, emphasising that any issues, if any, will be resolved.

When the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, led a military team to the Government House in Port Harcourt, the state capital, the governor spoke.

Fubara reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to peace and security in the country, particularly during this month’s off-season elections.

“For our dear state, I know everybody is wondering what’s going on, what’s not going on,” the governor added. We are fine; there is no issue.

“If we have an internal issue, it will be resolved and everything will go back to normal.

“There is nothing wrong if a father and a son have a problem, if there is any problem, but I don’t think there is anything, whatever it is, we will definitely resolve the issue.”
