The caretaker chairmen of the local government areas in Rivers State have commenced the process of swearing in members of their committees.
In Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, chaired by Chijioke Ihunwo, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, the ceremony is currently underway at a public facility within the LGA.
Similar activities are occurring across other local government areas within the South-South state.
This development follows Governor Sim Fubara’s inauguration of the caretaker committee chairmen just a day prior.
During the ceremony, Fubara advised committee members to operate from alternative locations to prevent further disturbances to law and order in the state, particularly after security personnel assumed control of some of the LGA secretariats.
