The Rivers State Police Command has deployed a heavy security presence in Ahoada in search of the killers of its Divisional Police Officer, Bako Angbashim.

The team led by the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Emeka, arrived in the community this morning and has begun a motivational parade for the officers.

Cultists on Friday brutally murdered and decapitated Bako, exacerbating the security crisis in the communities of Ahoada East.

The cultists ambushed and killed Bako in a forest located within the Odumude Community in Ahoada East Local Government Area, a region known for its prevalence of cult-related activities.

There is a sense of uneasiness in the air in Odumude, Odumereni, Odemusoma Ihugbogo, Odieke, and other communities of Ahoada East following the development.

However, attempts to contact Barr Ben Eke, the Local Government Chairman and Chief Security Officer of Ahoada East LGA, were unsuccessful.

Commissioner of Police Emeka personally led a heavy show of force into the area, motivating the officers and men of the Ahoada Police Division to be confident and dedicated to crime fighting.

Emeka stated that the command is poised to swiftly execute a meticulously planned operation, forcefully targeting criminal hideouts in the vicinity. Emeka vowed to ensure justice was served for the tragic demise of the valiant and acclaimed SP Bako.
