Two individuals have been confirmed dead following a multi-vehicle crash in Ogijo on the Sagamu/Ikorodu Expressway, while two others sustained injuries.

A statement from Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, released in Abeokuta, the state capital, stated that four vehicles were involved in the accident.

The cause of the crash is suspected to be a brake failure.

“The Daf truck had a brake failure and hit those two cars from behind and rammed under moving Mack truck, in the process, many were wounded and two presumed dead,” he said.

“The presumed dead were taken to General hospital morgue, Ikorodu while the casualties were rushed to H health centre for medical attention.

“Traffic was affected by the time of evacuation, but normalcy has been restored with the efforts of TRACE, POLICE and Lagos State fire service operatives

“Both bounds are free flow of traffic without any impediment,” he concluded.
