Road accident kills 16, injures four in Kaduna

On Sunday, a vehicle accident in Kaduna State’s Makarfi Local Government Area killed 16 persons and injured four others.

The accident, which occurred at 11:20 a.m. in the Tashar Yari area, involved a bus leaving Kano for Markudi in Benue State.

According to Kabir Nadabo, Kaduna State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the accident was caused by overspeeding, which resulted in the driver losing control of the steering and colliding into a ditch.

He said that an initial investigation of the crash revealed that 20 people were involved, with 16 dead. Four others were injured and were rushed to Makarfi General Hospital for medical attention.
