Road crash claims two lives, leaves eight injured in Ogun

Two individuals have been officially reported deceased, while eight others have sustained injuries in a road accident on the Idiroko-Ota road.

The Federal Road Safety Corps reported that the accident took place at approximately 8 pm on Sunday, involving a total of 10 individuals, comprising five adult males, four adult females, and one female child.

“The crash claimed two lives (male adults) and left eight people injured (four female adults, three male adults and one female child),” the FRSC said on Monday.

According to Florence Oko, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun, the collision involved a Man Diesel truck with the license plate LSR10YD and a Toyota Carina without a license plate.

“The suspected cause of the crash was wrongful overtaking that led to a head-on collision.”

“The injured victims were taken to General Hospital, Idiroko for treatment, and the corpses were taken away by the family.”

“The Sector Commander, FRSC Ogun Sector Command, CC Anthony Uga, advised motorists to always have a clear vision of 150 to 200 meters at night and a controlled speed before overtaking,” Okpe said.
