Rooney’s Plymouth to be subject of documentary
Filming has commenced on a behind-the-scenes documentary following Championship club Plymouth Argyle and their head coach, Wayne Rooney.
The cameras will capture life at Home Park as the former England captain navigates his first season in charge of the Pilgrims.
This development coincides with Rooney’s wife, Coleen, entering ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… jungle in Australia.
Rooney, who took over as head coach in May, has so far led Argyle to four wins and four draws in their 15 Championship games this season.
The team currently sits 18th in the 24-team league, just a point above the relegation zone.
Details regarding the platform or air date for the documentary have not yet been disclosed. Plymouth Argyle joins a growing list of clubs featured in such series.
The Welcome to Wrexham series, showcasing owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, became a global hit on Disney+, while Netflix’s Sunderland ’Til I Die chronicled the Black Cats’ highs and lows over three seasons.
Premier League clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham, and Arsenal have also been the focus of similar documentaries in recent years.
